[ By utter coincidence, the two of them meet up in the archives.

Alright, it wasn't at all coincidental on Adam's part. Ever since he saw Jason missing an eye and heard about what happened, he's been wanting to talk to him. It's not really that similar at all, but Adam does know what it's like to suddenly have half a sense taken away. He knows how hard it is to deal with it. He thinks, maybe, he might have some advice. If Jason wants it.

So he tries to think about where he might be and, really, where else to start? It's a relief when he finds him in the archives and Adam goes over to him smiling. ] Hey. Fancy meeting you here.

[Looking for him in the archives is a good call. There is only one thing Jason loves more than reading, and that's... probably chilidogs. Which he can just order from a robot in any room, so. You know. Adam will find him flipping through one of the physical copies in the archives.

Though, he might regret wanting to talk to him after he cocks an eyebrow and says—]

Y'know, despite what the movies might tell you? That line does not work well at all in real life.

Shit. Should have asked if you came here often instead. [ He's pretty used to being friends with others in the Piece of Shit profession so that doesn't faze him at all.

He goes over to sit next to him and skim over what he's reading. Just like the good old days. ] Not feeling particularly murderous this week? [ Easy simple small talk. ]

It's too late. No take-backs.

[What is this, 5th grade? He'll let him take a look at what he's reading, though. It's nothing too interesting. Mostly some historical babble or whatever.]

Pfft— No. Not particularly. [Screw this motive.] What about you? Getting a head start on your murder plans for Friday?

[ Why is Jason Todd 13 going on 30 at all times. ] Yeah, just wanted to see if you'd meet me by the incinerator at like 4AM, Friday? As long as you're free.

[ Okay maybe time to stop joking about murder? Maybe. ] Actually, um. Has anyone been checking on your eye? For infections and stuff.

I'd have to check my schedule. I'm a busy guy, y'know. Lots of irons in the fire.

[Any further jokes about murder are now dead and gone, though. He's been playing it off since Thursday, but the fact that he's now missing half of his sight is still a pretty sore subject. In a way, it's simultaneously better and worse than dying.]

Medical knowledge, remember? I've been checking it myself. [Well. Others might have helped during Thursday and Friday, when he was too out of it to do much.] I know what I'm doing, so if you're worried about it? Don't. I'm not gonna drop dead from gangrene.

No, I didn't think you would. [ He's quiet because he can tell this isn't going to be the easiest thing to talk about. Maybe he's crossed a line here. They never really talked about themselves when they were handcuffed together. ]

I just wanted to—well, not too long ago, I was in an accident. I lost the hearing in one of my ears. [ He taps at his left ear. ] It's not the same, I know, but adjusting was real difficult. It's still a struggle sometimes. I thought maybe we could help each other out. You have your hearing, I have my eyes... Good team, right? [ Said ironically. He's not entirely sure where he's going with this. ]

[Asshole tendencies aside, there's a reason Jason doesn't talk about himself to anyone. It's the same reason behind his lack of friends back when he was a teenager, living with Bruce and going to school like any other kid. He doesn't know how to talk about stuff that's bothering him. Doesn't know how to have any kind of heartfelt conversation. So Adam bringing this up is catching him more off-guard than anything, and he's visibly confused for a split second.]

Is this meant to be a pep talk? Or are we having an impromptu heart-to-heart now? Because I have to say, I'm not entirely sure where you're hoping to go with this.

Yeah, yeah. Neither am I. [ He doesn't seem bothered by that, in fact he's smiling. He's incredibly used to this sort of response. He just doesn't get it often because Adam isn't one to talk about feelings either. But he doesn't think this is about feelings. ]

It's hard is what I'm going for here. I can't tell where noises are coming from if I'm not looking at it. Eyesight is even more difficult because of your depth perception. So what are you doing for it? Training?
